Last Day for Machinima Expo

Last little plug for Machinima Expo

Picks for today are the "Writing and Adapting Scripts for Machinima" forum at 2.30pm SLT. Todd Stallkamp is one of the speakers at this event, who creates the machinima for Sims2/3 franchaise at EA. Although it is fairly easy to get paid machinima work from gaming companies and freelance in machinima (should you actually want to go that route ;)), I would say Todd is probably unique in the amount of creative freedom he gets in this field. Should be a very interesting discussion anyway!

Last pick is the after party event at Hatheads. Hathead is one of the most famous and talented musicians inside SL today. Party kicks off at 4pm SLT.

Machinima Expo Countdown

Hi guys!

Recently blogged on Boing Boing, the Machinima Expo opens tomorrow at 5pm SLT.

As well as a huge selection of films for the screenings, there are 16 films up for the Jury awards. What is different than last year, is the professional team of judges on the panel, including 10-time Emmy nominated animation artist, James Walker.

What is also different from last year, is the scale of this event. Previously held on one laggy Sim, it is now spread out over several, including a 4-square set up for the awards ceremony.

From the 16 chosen films, quite a few are from Second Life, including: Krrish Spyker, Freeta Kayo, Chantal Harvey, Lainy Voom, Russel Boyd (not using SL but probably better known for making the official SL ads, along with Pookie), and Sam Lowry. Some great prizes up for grabs too, sponsored by Muvizu and Reallusion

This event is also listed in the Linden Lab events guide

The Web portal for the Expo lists all the screenings, events and further details.

Hi guys!

I've got no idea what these pictures look like, my viewer failed and I've been using the crappy tv monitor all week, waiting for the new one to arrive. I hope they look ok!

New at LISP this Wednesday are a set of cosy nook fireplaces. They come in 3 different styles, Beatrice with carved leaves and check tiles, a warm wood with darker inlay and a darker wood with a white inlay. All come with sculpted fire and a crackling fire sound. Moddable.
